What is Lockstep?

Lockstep is a sustainable trade finance service that lends merchants money for their shipments at reasonable terms if they make sustainable shipping decisions.

What makes Lockstep unique?

The main constraint for this project was to help merchants have the cash flow they need through the time of shipment. The shipping cycle is long, up to months. The merchant can't take the money on the order until the shipment of the order arrives at the final customer. Here, Lockstep goes one step and provides money for the merchant under certain rules.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Lead the product story boarding and light user research.

- Design of the user experience, including creating key user flows and wireframes.

- Create high-fidelity wireframes to show the full product experience without dedicating resources to the full visual process.

Problem & process

Create an MVP prototype to help merchants borrow money from lockstep. They need to upload documents of the shipments and get a good sustainable score. Depending on it, the interest rate will be decided.

Goals:

- Tracking a shipment once it leaves.

- Create a service that touches the physical supply chain, not just the financial one.

- Measuring the success factors of every shipment

- The financing around it

Storyboard

Research

Lockstep will lend the user (Bimbo $) at any point here, an interesting variable on the sustainability of shipment, duration of financing, and where along the financing chain (post-PO vs post-Invoice).

Through going on the storyboard, we found the key screens we needed to start with and some issues we needed to solve through the experience.

Issues:

- What information details do we need to determine before deciding the interest rate?

- The time user needs to get approved.

- We need an easy way to let the user understand all processes.

User story for Translator:

  1. Once he is logged in, the translator is going to see which articles he has to work on. He needs to see what action he needs to take and the status of his work.

  2. The translator wants to be able to see the articles he has to work on, when he does that, he wants to take a break and continue to do it Later. When he came back, he finished his work and asked for the creator to review it. Two hours later, the creator approves it and the translation is done.

Persona

The target personas for this product are 2 main personas

Editor

The editor needs to be able to write an article, automatically translate it using Google Translate API, or assign a translator to translate it and then pay the translator.

Translator

The translator might be able to manage the articles

assigned to him, translate, request a review from

an editor, and get paid. But the key persona is

the editor because, in the end, he’ll be more valuable

in it
